Access to Work Grants

An Access to Work grant provides practical employment support for people with a disability, health or mental health condition.

The money can be used for:

  • Specialist equipment
  • Travel when you can’t use public transport
  • A communicator at a job interview

Any money received as an Access to Work grant doesn't have to be repaid and does not affect benefits.

To qualify for the grant, you must be over 16 and unemployed and about to start a job or work trial, or full time employed/self-employed. You can't get this grant for voluntary work.

To apply, call 020 8426 3110, or email the London Access to Work Operational Support Unit. For more information, visit the Access to Work Grants page of the GOV.UK website.
