Blue Badge Scheme – Reminders and Renewals Information

“At the start of the year the Department for Transport (DfT) decided that renewal reminders would no longer be sent to badge holders (these were always produced centrally by the DfT on behalf of all local authorities) and unfortunately, due to the time and cost involved, Wiltshire Council is unable to offer an independent reminder service to our Wiltshire Blue Badge holders.


We now advise applicants to apply up to 12 weeks before their current badge expires in order that they will then receive a new badge, subject to eligibility, in good time and before their old badge expires. Further the Blue Badge criteria, as set by the DfT, has now changed to also include non-visible (hidden) disabilities.
