Are You Worried about Receiving a School Fine for Your Child’s Non-Attendance?

According to a BBC report, an increasing number of parents are being fined for their child’s non-attendance at school; amounting to £3.7 million in fines so far in this school year.

We know from calls we receive from parent carers that there are a number of children with SEND who struggle with attendance or are on part-time timetables. This is mirrored by information shared by Contact, who saw an 8% increase in calls to their SEN helpline on attendance issues in the six months up to March.
