The Wiltshire Autism Information Pack

Autism Info Pack COVER.jpg
A guide for parents and carers who look after someone on the Autistic Spectrum aged 0-25 years.

Has your child or young person recently been given a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Condition (this term includes the whole Autism Spectrum including Asperger’s syndrome)? Or are you supporting or looking after someone with an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and are thinking “What do I do now?”, “Where can I go for support?”, and “Who can I turn to?”

This local information pack has been developed by parents and carers who have children and young people with ASCs themselves. It aims to signpost to relevant agencies, services and resources in Wiltshire which can help with concerns and questions. It also contains information on some national organisations, websites, books and resources that may be useful.

You can either download the whole pack or browse through it here online and print off the sections or pages that are relevant. The pack contains seven key sections, all colour coded to make finding them easier. The first two sections give information on support and services which cover all ages, and the next four sections focus on services specific to different age-ranges.

The final section: ‘resources’ covers information about Special Educational Needs support, and the Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment and plans, Government legislation, the Adult Autism Strategy, as well as other really useful tools, books and websites.
