Free Ten-Week Programme for Young People Aged 18 to 35 at Risk of Long-Term Unemployment

MacsMAD is a ten-week programme for young people aged 18 to 35 who are at risk of long-term unemployment. They work with a wide variety of young people, including young offenders, young parents, those who have experienced homelessness or addiction, young people with mental health difficulties or neurodiversity.

The programme includes significant work experience in MacsMAD professional kitchen, extensive application and interview support, and six months of one-to-one mentoring upon completion of the programme. All MacsMAD trainees study for a Level 1 BTEC in Workskills and a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification. Those who need to can also choose to complete Functional Skills in English and Maths.

After completion of the programme, 50% of MacsMAD graduates from the last three months went straight into employment with Miss Macaroon. The programme is completely funded by Miss Macaroon's profit and doesn't cost trainees a penny.

This programme is for those who are not quite work ready and will receive training to help improve this with the aim to get them into work once they leave.

If you would like any more information about the programme or what can be offered, please email Amy Shephard at: programmeleader@missmacaroon.co.uk
