How Booking for Wiltshire’s Short Breaks Scheme Activity Clubs Works

Barnardo’s want to explain how booking works for Wiltshire Short Breaks Activity Clubs.

For the Barnardo’s Trowbridge, Bradford on Avon, Chippenham, and Devizes clubs, they share a link to Bookwhen every quarter, so about every three months.

Bookwhen is an online booking site which allows families to book spaces for clubs.

There is also a waiting list feature which they always recommend you use as there can be a lot of change, which means you may get a space in a club you didn’t originally manage to book for. Depending on the needs of young people attending clubs and the activities planned, they are sometimes able to offer additional places to those on the waiting list.

Occasionally they may need to offer a half day where clubs are oversubscribed, or if this suits your child’s needs better.

For their Salisbury clubs at Elizabeth House, booking forms go out via email/post with a return by date, then bookings are confirmed with parent by email/telephone/post, whichever is the preferred method of the parents.

Barnardo’s appreciate that spaces can book up quickly so they also wanted to explain that the spaces are not solely given out on a first come first served basis; they also try to balance clubs and give spaces to families who have not accessed any clubs so far or have no access to a computer to book etc. Sometimes they may need change bookings to ensure your child’s needs are met and that all children and young people are safe and happy at club.

If you have trouble booking or need help, then let Barnardo’s know and they will always do their best to help.
